To liven up the celebrations, there was also a lion dance performance and a God of Wealth to hand out candies to all guests.

President Ng Soy Ng started the lunch by wishing everyone a Happy New Year and Gong Xi Fa Cai. He also thanked SMS Tan, SCCCI President Kho Choon Keng and all the guests for attending the event.  President Ng commented that the past 3 years had not been easy due to covid-19. There are also other challenges that we’ll need to overcome today, such as inflation and the ongoing Ukraine war.  However, the building Industry is on the path to recovery and we are hopeful that with the government initiatives and grants for the Built Environment (BE) sector, we will welcome a better future.

SMS Tan also shared with the members on how he is glad that the BE sector has overcome the challenges during the COVID-19 period. Looking ahead, the outlook for our BE sector remains positive and construction activities are gradually picking up. Nonetheless, we must also step up our efforts to transform the BE industry into one that is even more resilient, sustainable and productive, to overcome any future challenges.
